The Baader Meinhof Complex(2008)
Uli Edels fascinating retelling of the birth, growth and eventual collapse of the West German militant group the RAF(Red Army Faction). The piece explores both the impact of the actions of this group on individuals and society as a whole, whilst questioning in an unbiased manner the concept of global revolutionary struggle. Edels shies away from over dramatising an already difficult chapter in how the western world learned to deal with what they class as terrorism. Instead along with an excellent cast he creates what feel like a series of snap-shots that detail the final derailment of European revolutionary ideal by both the authorities and the personalities engaged in these acts.

Pete Philly & Perquisite- Mystery Repeats
This 2007 follow up to 'MindState' cements this Dutch duos reputation as the masters of poignant and chilled hip-hop.
Seriously, buy this record. Nothing else sounds quite as gorgeous and free of modern rap cliche.

Tim Minchin - Are You Ready For This
This Autumn sees our favourite part elf part ginger hedge return to tread barefoot on the stages of the UK.
Combining comedy with music is frequently a tricky task, though seemingly not for this performer. Minchin energetically twists and turns through religion and racism, through to relationships and boobs. Yes, boobs.
Catch him live quick before he escapes back to continue the tour in his native Australia.
